The Creighton Kodiaks senior B girl’s volleyball team recently wrapped up a very impressive season. This years team was made up of grade 9 and 10 girls whose hard work was second only to their dedication and fun. The team traveled to four tournaments this year; Wadena, Quill Lake, The Pas, and the district Championships in Melfort.
The first tournament of the year came in Wadena where the girls played against girls two years older then them. They handled themselves very well beating Nokomis, Lipton, and Hudson Bay. They eventually lost in the semi-finals to Cupar to place fourth overall.
With added experience, the girls headed to Quill Lake’s very difficult senior ‘A’ tournament. Despite being the youngest team their, the girls were able to defeat Kelvington, Bruno and Young to place 2nd in Round Robin to create a rematch against last year’s provincial silver medalists; Bruno, in the semi finals. Despite playing some amazing volleyball they eventually lost to place 3rd overall in the tournament.
Next up was MBCI’s Junior Varsity Invitational tournament where the girls were able to play against teams of their own age group. Playing their best volleyball of the season, they had a dominate weekend going undefeated in the round robin. They went on to defeat Thompson in the final 25-6 and 26-24 to go undefeated and win the Tournament!

Finally, the girls headed to the senior ‘B’ District Championships in Melfort where they faced off against the top three senior B volleyball teams in our district. The girls played inspired volleyball and were able to go undefeated again beating Melfort 25-12, 25-17, Byorkdale 25-19, 25-17, and Choiceland 25-10, 25-13. With their impressive play the Creighton Kodiaks were crowned the NESSAC District Champions!

(NESSAC CHAMPIONS!!!)
As mentioned before the girls were full of enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication: sometimes practicing as many as five times a week. Despite this, they never forgot why they were there; to have fun and had many quirks to show for it. We will never forget singing to Meatloaf in the van with the windows rolled down, doing the Cha Cha Slide as a pre-game ritual, or Yelling “LIKE A PUMA!” during games.
There are many people the girls would like to thank for such a great season beginning with Mrs. Bullee and Brittany Bullee. Having a team mom and sister is extraordinary. Thank you for driving to all of our tournaments, watching our practices, cheering us on and taping our games and looking after Mr. T. It wouldn’t have been the same without you. Secondly, the girls would like to thank Mr. Biberdorf and Mr.Ritch for helping to drive us to our tournaments and not being the Bad luck guys
Finally, the girls would like to Thank Mrs. Wallaker and Mr. Trumbley for taking the time to develop every single player to their best abilities. Without your dedication, this would not have been such a memorable season.
